As UNLLAMADO comes to a close~ la lucha continua!

Afrolatinos Family!

Thank you!!!

WE DID IT! We completed an amazingly beautiful campaign—UNLLAMADO. Thank you to all who answered our call!

This has been the most exhilarating two months. As a community we came together and shared knowledge. During our twitter parties we raised consciousness. This is how the most important movements are started, we gather, we commune and we build!

The Afrolatinos team (Renzo, Kayla, our countless supporters and volunteers) would like to shout out and thank personally the many who posted and reposted links to our pages, sent emails and made phone calls on our behalf! We could not have gone this far without you!

THANK YOU!

While we did not reach our 60K goal, we did however receive the following generous gifts:

$4,151 on indiegogo!

$462 at our El Ultimo Llamado Charity Event!

$400 at the NYC Latina Writer’s Group ~ Sankofa Sisterhood Event!

For a grand total of $5,013.00

This alone is a major success!

What are the next steps for Afrolatinos: The Untaught Story?

One of the things we have learned during this project is that we must never quit and must always hold onto our faith. Over the next few months we will continue to fund raise, we will continue to spread the word; we will continue to stay connected with you and we will continue to knock on the doors of networks! Renzo and I are dedicated to this project. Afrolatinos is our life work! We will be working very hard to continue to collect the necessary funds to finish this project and we ask that you please continue to spread the word.

This story is so much larger than all of us and we will never take no for an answer!

Thank you for believing in us! Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, love and prayers! We could not have done this without you.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman
