Becoming Vulnerable 30 Day Writing Challenge ~ Day 6

Rise and shine my loves!

It’s a new day. It’s a new dawn. It’s a new week.

So we push. We brave the current. We push further this week. Let’s stay with the writing.

Please share your writing responses I would love to hear what is rising for you. Also please note that our writing times are raising and we are building.

Yesterday’s ten minute prompt wasn’t easy but I find that repeating, and rewriting the prompt again and again helps me to stay with it longer. I also find that the longer I am with a prompt more things come up for me to look at. And this is good.

Take a deep breath… sit somewhere comfortable… don’t think about it… allow what comes up to guide you. We will start with a warm-up, set your timer for 3 minutes:

Warm-up prompt 3 minutes: WHAT I SEE FOR MYSELF… (BEGIN!)

Deep breath– release…

Day 6 prompt: PEOPLE CAN BE SO FULL OF… (Set timer for 10 minutesBEGIN!)

People can be so full of…

How did that feel? Tell me about the process…

There is no right or wrong way to do the prompts. They can be written in the form of prose or poetry, 1st person or 3rd, in the voice of your main character or villain… the point is to write… to keep writing… to stay with me and not give up.

I look forward to reading your responses.

My loves… this is a shared writing community. Please know that what one of us is experiencing someone else might be. You never know who you can inspire with just your words.

Please share your responses to the 30 Day ~ Becoming Vulnerable Writing Challenge in the comment section below.

I will post my prompt response when I return.

Wishing you all the most beautiful day filled with love, light and continual inspiration.

And so it is. Namaste. Aché

With all my love,

  1. WARMUP: What I see for myself is a place that fills me. I see myself happy. I see myself laughing. I see myself filled with joy. There is difference between joy and happiness. People, places and things have brought me happiness. But joy… Only joy can be held by being clear about what I see as happiness…

You know what brings me joy–THIS?

Writing brings me joy. Sharing brings me joy. That my writing is for me. This knowing brings me joy. It’s selfish. But beautiful. And the fact that I get to share my joy makes me happy. END TIME

Prompt 6: People can be so full of… Shit. That was my immediate thought as I wrote this prompt. People can be so full of shit! Some people are not what they seem. They are not even the best parts of themselves because they are so busy trying to be something they are not. I was having a conversation with my daughter about how people are not what they seem. They try and put their best face on, but deep down they are someone completely different.

    Being who you are!

I’m thinking about my oldest friend and how we met over twenty years ago I really didn’t believe who she showed me she was. I couldn’t believe that people were THAT optimistic, THAT positive, THAT filled with love and peace, THAT generous and kind.

I had never been exposed to someone like her. Not when you grow up in Brooklyn and Queens and are raised a certain way… Where you are surrounded by people who are from a particular background, mindset and history. Where we don’t trust anyone. Where we wonder what peoples ulterior motives are and if they have a hidden agenda. All of this questioning to only discover that she is EXACTLY what she seems. This is rare. This is the difference between those who are full of shit and those who are authentically themselves.

When people are really what they seem this is beautiful. Here we can build. Here we can make beautiful discoveries.

She told me she didn’t like me very much because I seemed to be full of myself. It’s funny the things that we see… The things we believe we see. Maybe we are being called to release what we think we see and really open our eyes to those who are right in front of us. Maybe here we will make new discoveries for ourselves. Maybe here we won’t believe what others tell us. And so it is. END TIME
