Becoming Vulnerable 30 Day Writing Challenge ~ Day 24:
The dreams we dream…
Explosions!!! That’s what I am hearing all around me… they start off small… they feel like they are in the distance… but then the pounding begins… the thumping… everything bothers me.. the light… trucks passing by… the woman sitting in her car in a parking spot right across from my house that I just know she’s going to be leaving soon that would have been perfect for me but that she insists she really isn’t leaving–that’s what they all say, “I’m not leaving!!!” then I drive around the corner and BOOM she’s gone.
Tick! Tick! Boom!
Explosions…
My headaches feel like explosions… and when I feel this way I don’t want to do anything, see anyone… I didn’t even want to write today’s prompt… but we are in this together… even when we just want to close our eyes and do nothing we must keep moving.
My birthday is fast approaching and perhaps this is the cause for my headaches. Our dreams… our dreams hold so many messages and warnings. Lately it seems that my dreams are many… none of them make sense. I start one place and end somewhere else. I have dreamt with different bodies of water, friends I haven’t seen in a long time… I have dreamt with the dead.
I feel like I have so many thoughts racing through my mind and searching for just a little bit of inspiration to get me going today, and I have found it… today’s prompts are from H.P. Lovecraft’s, Great Tales of Horror.
What has been coming up for you in your dreams?
Take a deep breath… sit somewhere comfortable… don’t think about it… allow what comes up to guide you. We will start with a warm-up, set your timer for (5 minutes):
