Becoming Vulnerable 30 Day Writing Challenge ~ Day 29:
Today I am thinking about the people we walk by daily. There are so many stories that pass us by every minute of everyday. We think we know what people are going through and who they are… but these are our perceptions… only they know who they really are.
Sometimes though… we don’t even see them! We can get so lost in our own stories… so trapped by our own lives… so stuck in our own history… so closed off to those around us.
When we reflect on some of those experiences that trap us sometimes we wish things could have been different… we fixate on what the past should have provided… sometimes we stay HERE… with those old thoughts. Because sometimes… we like to sit in our own mess.
Today I want us to think about the people who have come into our lives… people we may not even know. Think about some of the things you may have heard just in passing or directly said to you… that has stayed with you.
Lets take a deep breath… STRETCH…. sit somewhere comfortable… don’t think about it… allow what comes up to guide you. We will start with a warm-up, set your timer for (6 minutes):
Warm-up prompt (6 minutes): HE WAS PROUD OF… (BEGIN!)
Deep breath– release…
Day 29 prompt: WHEN I TOLD HER… (Set timer for (10 minutes each prompt)–BEGIN!)
10 minutes: When I told her… (once timer is up move to the next prompt, if you get stuck just write the prompt again)
10 minutes: We were free to…
10 minutes: In the streets people were…
Today’s prompts all came from Maya Angelou’s, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.
