Beloved readers, friends and family,
I write this blog post with a sad heart. I am devastated about the earthquake that hit Nepal this past Saturday, April 25th… 7.8 on the Richter scale. Many have died, an estimated 2,500 people have lost their lives. Climbers on Mt. Everest, died doing what they most loved, the thrill and exhilaration that comes with completion. Mother Nature has a way of showing you the unexpected. How could we prepare for something like this? So many people have lost loved ones, their homes… How do we rebuild from scraps? How do we rise from the ashes?
An unexpected avalanche would change the course of their lives. The people of Kathmandu have lost homes and temples and as I sit here tonight somber, devastated I wanted to thank those of you who have emailed me to make sure that I am safe.
I am safe.
And I send you all love.
To the people of Nepal, those affected in neighboring countries, the people of India, all those mourning losses you are each in my prayers. As I continue my journey I dedicate my writing to the people of Nepal.
Luz for their spirits. Namasté. Aché
With so much love and peace,
Alicia
