Dear Agent ~ Day 1

You will receive hundreds, maybe even thousands of solicited and unsolicited requests in the history of your career. You will receive mountains of manuscripts and screenplays that perhaps you may never read. I could go the traditional route of sending you all countless letters that I may or may not get a response to. I could spend hundreds of dollars making copies, sending letters and packages via USPS. I could email each and every one of you blindly without even knowing if in fact you are interested in the kinds of stories I write about. I could go the traditional more formal and appropriate route (according to all the “How to get an agent etiquette articles.”) But there is nothing traditional about me!

I believe that people get connected to “the right” people, by those they surround themselves with or in my case I believe that the people I am looking for will find me. I do believe in being in the right place at the right time! If you are really lucky you will come across amazing beings that are more than happy to share their connections and resources with you. I am looking for these people.

I believe in fate. I believe things happen right on time. I believe things happen when you do the work. And I am not in a rush. I will take my time. I believe that the search for the “perfect agent” is not one I should rush into without research, without careful consideration and without great excitement. I believe we will find each other when the time is right! So the method I have chosen to find this “perfect agent” this “right agent” this “perfect fit for me” is by using my blog. This is my platform.

In my #DearAgent series I will share my work, and process. I have every intention of seeing the work I have created published and on the big screen. I look forward to meeting you.

Let the search begin!
