Day 9 of Agent Search:
Dear Agent,
You want a story that is character driven. You want a journey that is memorable. You want to read something that not only can you sell, but will put you on the map. It’s rare to find a story that will leave people raving about the amazing characters that have been created.
Today I am spending my time really flushing out my characters story.
What are the words she uses? What separates her from the other characters? What do I know about her backstory, her history, and where she is from? What was life like for her in Haiti. What was her childhood like? Her adolescence? Who does she grow up to become? What are the events that shape her? What lessons has she learned? Who was her father? Who was her mother? Does she have siblings? What is she preparing for? What will her life become? Who are her friends? What does she look like? (She has a scar, on her cheek, right above her dimple… she has the most beautiful smile and perfect teeth).
And so today my writing goal is to dig for her story.
I WORK! I WRITE! I STAY WITH IT! EVERYDAY I WRITE! AND I AM REMEMBERING TO SLOW DOWN!
Writing Prompt:
(1) Answer all the questions above… (Ask of your story, character, scenes, symbols or themes every question you would ask about their motivation and intention. What do we want to say?) Set timer for (3 hours)
