Day 18 of Agent Search
Dear Agent;
I AM THE REVERENT WRITER!
Writing has always been part of my spiritual process. Writing is part of my rituals, my healing, and my creativity. Writing has always been about discovery and openness. I write with great care because the subjects are ones I care deeply for. Writing is the only place where I could really let go… (yet there have been moments where even the outside voices have attempted to silence me).
Being the reverent writer is truly about coming to the craft with a tremendous amount of care. Care for our characters. Care for our readers. Care for our themes. Care for our stories.
“… in order to be a writer, you have to learn to be reverent. If not, why are YOU writing.” We must ask ourselves this!
“Let’s think of reverence as awe, as presence in and openness to the world. The alternative is that we stultify, we shut down. Think of those times when you’ve read prose or poetry that is presented in such a way that you have a fleeting sense of being startled by beauty or insight, by a glimpse into someone”s soul.”
Writing connects me to others, but also to my own soul. I am so grateful for this knowing!

I WORK! I WRITE! I STAY WITH IT! EVERYDAY I WRITE! AND I AM REMEMBERING TO SLOW DOWN!
