Dear Writers,
I have been thinking about New Year’s resolutions and the setting of intentions and life goals. In my case I have been meditating on my life’s purpose, writer’s intent and writing goals. I started my year as I always do my ritual being to say goodbye to the previous year and to welcome the New Year with open arms. Hours spent reflecting and purging. I began my letter writing about what I “want” for 2017. I quickly realized that my intention behind even the words “what I want,” was weak! So I changed it. I switched gears quickly. I acknowledged that my words carry so much power. Then a line from a prayer came to mind, “thy will be done!!!”
What will I… “will” to be done?
WHAT WILL BE DONE?
My pen moved faster as I began to list every project, every essay, every idea, every commitment, every area of my life and every story that I WILL complete in 2017… I wrote all that WILL BE DONE! It is no longer about all those “wishes” and “dreams” and “resolutions” that sometimes fade or feel unattainable. There will be no letting myself down. This is a year of focus and achievement! I will begin today! I will get to work everyday! I will take a risk once a day!
Some of the things in my love letter to me for all I WILL obtain in 2017:
I will complete the draft of my historical fiction!
I will apply to many writing opportunities!
I will publish this year more than any other year!
I will do things that align with my life purpose and bring me joy!
I will wake up everyday and sit at my desk to plan my day and manage my time!
I will be fearless in 2017!
I will complete everything I start!
What WILL YOU have, create, do, accomplish, complete and write this year?
As we welcome 2017 let’s begin by simply coming to the page. For those of you who believe in spiritual manifestations when it comes to creativity and birthing ideas–this is the year of COMPLETION! This is the year of HARD WORK! This is the year of having the life we WILL to be ours! This is a wonderful time, the first week of the year, to begin our projects, this is the year we FINISH what we start!
